XW GTHO Phase 1

1969 Ford Falcon XW GTHO Phase 1

This car is the 220th out of 260 XW GT HO Phase 1’s built, a fraction of total XW production, and for the serious muscle car collector and Ford enthusiast a genuine HO is one of the most desirable performance cars around, not to mention a rapidly appreciating asset and this is one of those cars that can’t be walked past. Out of those 260 cars built only 69 were built in Candy Apple red and of these cars this car is only 1 of 11 built to this same build specification.

This stunning example of a GTHO sports the gold decals and twin driving lights, the Falcon GT was the toughest looking Falcon yet!

With the launch of the re-vamped XW Falcon in 1969, the GT heralded new levels of performance thanks to the 351-ci 4V high output Windsor V8, 4 speed manual floor shift, limited-slip diff, power-assisted front disc brakes and 36-gallon fuel tank plus a full complement of instruments.

The result was a thumping 300bhp and 385lb/ft of torque, making the GT-HO the quickest Aussie muscle car to date with 0-100km/h times in around 6.5 seconds and the standing quarter mile in 14.4 seconds.

In this rare combination of candy apple red and black trim this GTHO is any Ford enthusiast dream and is a stunning example of motoring history, with Owner paperwork and accessories lists still in the glove box from the factory. This car has undertaken an elite open cheque book restoration with no expense spared and is fully licenced for the roads, it is any collectors dream and a great asset to any enthusiast.
